Mundara is a large figurative piece in a full backbend, her arm and leg outstretched creates a rainbow.
Her backbend creates an arc between earth and sky, turning the human body into a bridge, a gateway, a horizon. The rainbow arc suggests transcendence, but also connection: the joining of opposites — masculine and feminine, human and nature, matter and spirit.
Visitors can ascend, from the earth rising into her head - a movement from survival into awareness, from the material world into higher consciousness. From her head they can ascend to her heart - ascending into infinite love. The sculpture becomes more than an object to observe; it becomes a journey.
Mundi means World and Dara means the sustainer. Mundara is "She who holds the world."
